If you receive text files of your sequences they can be opened with any word processing program or simple text. If you would like to view the chromatogram (data) files there are shareware programs available on the internet for both Macintosh and PC users. There is also a sequence alignment program available for PC users.

Sequence Viewing and Analysis Programs

BioEdit -- Biological sequence alignment editor for Windows 95/98/NT.

Editview -- Macintosh viewing and sequence analysis program.

Chromas -- allows the viewing of ABI formatted automated sequencing files in Windows.

Genedoc -- a multiple sequence alignment editor, analyser, and shading utility for Windows.

Genbank -- sequence submission support and software.

BLAST -- a set of similarity search programs designed to explore all of the available sequence databases regardless of whether the query is protein or DNA.

Entrez -- an integrated search and retrieval system that takes information from all of the databases at NCBI.
